Peoria Police are investigating what they say is their third homicide in a week.

Officers say Ira Montford, 25, died Tuesday when he was shot in the chest and found outside his family’s apartment building.  They want anyone with information to come forward.

Another man was shot and killed Saturday night, and another man was shot and killed a week ago Tuesday.

Of the nine homicides in Peoria this year, authorities say seven are unsolved, and seven involved guns.
