As medical facilities are faced with a shortage of healthcare workers, the new HELPrS program at Lincoln Land Community College is working to get high school students interested in healthcare careers. Director Leigh Giles-Brown says many young people don’t always know the full range of healthcare jobs available to them, and the new program extends beyond the LLCC campus.  Students will participate in job shadowing at local healthcare facilities as well on-campus labs and lectures.  At the end of the program, students will complete a Capstone project.

Students will also get paid to participate. Giles-Brown says the program incentivizes students to spread their wings and learn more about healthcare careers.
