Crime of the Week:  Help needed identifying suspect in Springfield hit-and-run, injuring pedestrian

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a hit and run involving a pedestrian.

On Saturday, April 25, 2026 at approximately 9:25 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Wabash and Corbin near Scooter’s Coffee. After striking the pedestrian, the vehicle did not stop and fled the scene of the crash. The pedestrian, who suffered multiple injuries, was transported to a local hospital where they are currently being treated.

If you have any information regarding this incident, can identify any suspect(s) or the vehicle involved, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on our website, or use the P3 app. If your tip results in an arrest, you could receive a cash reward up to $2,500.
