Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Fire Department in coordination with the State Fire Marshal in reference to an arson that occurred on March 25th, 2026, around 9:30 am at the Bicentennial Building, located at 320 W. Washington in Springfield.

The fire ignited in a storage room on the 7th floor of the building, causing over $10,000 in damage before being extinguished by the Springfield Fire Department.  This fire is currently being investigated as an incendiary fire.

If photos become available, they will be posted on our website.  If you have any information regarding this incident or can identify a suspect, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on our website, or use the P3 app. If your tip results in an arrest, you could receive a cash reward up to $2,500.
