UPDATED Crime of the Week:  Help still needed solving Monday homicide, as victim is identified

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference to a homicide that occurred near the area of 14th and Cornell in Springfield around 5:50 p.m. on August 18, 2025.

Officers responded to the area for a report of shots fired. During the incident, Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds, one of whom was tragically killed.  On Wednesday afternoon, Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon identified the victim as Ayden Randall Paige, 18, of Rochester.  Allmon says preliminary autopsy results indicate Paige died from a single gunshot wound
