Durbin: If Trump can vote by mail, you should be allowed to, too

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Senator Dick Durbin says he doesn’t understand how President Trump can do something he doesn’t want anyone else to do, and that’s vote by mail.

“Now he’s saying it can’t be trusted.  It’s inaccurate. It’s false,” said Durbin, during a recent appearance in Springfield.  “We know better than that.  Take a look at all of the elections we’ve had in the last 20 years in America.  They went and took a look at how many people voted illegally in those elections.”

Durbin claims the number was only 77.  It’s not clear to what study he was referring.

So, Durbin says, the “Save America Act’s” attempt to make voting harder, is unnecessary.

“We should not change the basic laws. Every American legally eligible should be allowed to vote in a convenient fashion,” said Durbin.

Durbin says Trump is simply afraid that people aren’t going to vote for Republicans in November, and that voting conveniently is exactly what Trump did.
