Former cop from Taylorville arrested for alleged child porn possession

Taylorville, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A former police officer is accused by Christian County authorities of having child pornography materials.

Taylorville Police say Brian Grove, 50, was recently taken into custody.

According to a news release, an investigation which started March 23 resulted in what authorities say was digital evidence of child sexual abuse material being obtained.

“In the interest of transparency, Brian Grove is a former Secretary of State Police Officer and the husband of Taylorville Police Officer Jody Grove,” said the news release.

Online court records for Grove are not yet available.

“We extend our sincere appreciation to the Illinois State Police, Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Christian County State’s Attorney’s Office for their partnership and unwavering commitment to protecting our community,” said the release.
