Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) — Two Illinois State Representatives are teaming up with Toys for Tots to collect toys for kids across Sangamon County.

State Representatives Mike Coffey (R-Springfield) and Wayne Rosenthal (R-Morrisonville) will host a holiday drive from now until December 20.

According to our news partners at WAND-TV, new, unwrapped toys will be collected at their district office in Springfield to be distributed to families in Sangamon County.

“Many families are struggling with high gas prices and utility bills and trying to make ends meet these days,” said Rosenthal. “If you are fortunate to have a little extra and able to donate, please join us to help bring a smile to a child during the Christmas season with a baby doll, a baseball and glove or even an erector set, Lincoln Logs or Legos to encourage creativity in a child.”

The drop off location is at the E-1 Stratton Office Building, 401 S. Spring Street, Springfield, IL.
