Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Noah Jacobs has joined the Illinois Springfield men’s basketball coaching staff for the 2025-26 season, arriving from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

“I want to thank Coach Brock and the administration at UIS for this tremendous opportunity. As someone from Springfield, it is a privilege to be able to coach at a very successful program with a strong culture. I am looking forward to a great season and cannot wait to get to work!”

Jacobs was a manager for the Illinois State men’s basketball program under head coach Dan Muller from 2017-20. He then began his coaching career at Edwardsville High School before spending two seasons at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi as a graduate assistant and video coordinator under head coach Jim Shaw.

While at Corpus Christi, Jacobs’ responsibilities included coordinating film exchange, film breakdown, graphic design, and on-court player development, among other duties. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi achieved back-to-back 20-win seasons while Jacobs was on the staff.

“We are thrilled to get Noah at UIS!” said head coach Matt Brock. “He comes from two great programs and has the tools and skills to help our guys succeed. He is a tireless worker and will be a huge value to our program.”

The Prairie Stars will welcome some fresh faces to this year’s team to join key contributors Britton Dutton, Tye Banks, and All-GLVC performer Jordan Rice.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
