Man arrested for illegal drugs and guns following investigation

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield Police say a local man was the target of an investigation, finding drugs and allegedly stolen guns in his possession.

According to jail records and Springfield Police, Troy Walker, 30, was taken into jail Tuesday and faces charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a stolen firearm, serialization of unfinished (firearm) frames, manufacture / delivery of a controlled substance, and possession of stolen property.

Police say as the result of a search warrant into Walker by their Street Crimes Unit and the Central Illinois Enforcement Group, officers found four illegal firearms, cash, approximately 642 grams of suspected methamphetamine, around eight grams of suspected cocaine, and approximately 15 grans of suspected crack cocaine, and a stolen off-road vehicle.

Walker remains held in the Sangamon County Jail.  It’s not clear when he will make a court appearance.

Springfield Police say you can call them or Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers if you have information that can help what they say is an ongoing investigation.
