Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Springfield Police released details Friday of a shooting in the southeast part of the city.
According to a news release, Springfield Police received a Shot Spotter alert of a shooting near Fox Bridge Road and Bunn Drive Monday, July 20, around 4:20 p.m.
Officers who responded to the scene, police say, learned the victim had already been taken to the hospital with “multiple gunshot wounds” and were able to collect evidence, including after a search warrant was obtained.
The identity of the victim is not known, but police say he is in “stable” condition.
It’s not clear if any arrests have been made, but police say an investigation continues.
