Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The president of a community college in west central Illinois will be moving east to take the helm of Lincoln Land Community College.

According to a news release, and pending a final vote, the Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Board of Trustees has selected Curt Oldfield to take over as president, effective July 1.  Oldfield will replace Charlotte Warren, who is retiring after having served in the position for the last 20 years.

Oldfield’s career in education started as an agriculture teacher at the former Roseville High School, now Monmouth-Roseville.  He was a former Spoon River College faculty and dean of instruction before becoming president, after a stint at Northeast Iowa Community College.  Oldfield has served as Spoon River’s president the last 14 years.

“Dr. Oldfield brings Illinois community college experience, thoughtful leadership and a clear commitment to student success,” said Rep. Wayne Rosenthal, chair of the LLCC Board of Trustees, in a news release.

Oldfield, LLCC says, is currently also a fellow in the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program.

Spoon River College is based in Canton and has a campus in Macomb, among other places, and has a footprint similar to that of LLCC.

WTAX and CapitolCityNow have requested an interview with Oldfield.
