Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The current owner of NewsChannel 20 won’t be the current owner much longer.

A number of publications report Rincon Broadcasting Group is transferring control of the station group, including WICS-TV, WRSP-TV, and WICD-TV to a company called Community News Media LLC.

It’s not clear why, but the owner of Rincon, Todd Parker, reportedly is a former executive with the network that has been known as either Bally Sports or FanDuel Sports, which more or less just dissolved its network that broadcast regional sports.

Rincon also pulled out of a deal to purchase more stations recently.

Rincon bought WICS, WRSP, and WICS from media giant Sinclair Broadcast Group almost a year ago, and some reports suggest the stations could end up being sold back to Sinclair.

The transfer of ownership, which would leave Rincon with zero stations, was first brought to light in documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission.
