Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance (SSGA) has been hosting annual meetings to go over the current growth in networking and the economy in Sangamon County with a big focus on Springfield.

Ryan McCrady, the CEO of the SSGA, spoke on the WTAX Morning Newswatch about what to expect at the upcoming meeting, which is in fact open to the public, as well as shared some good news on this past year’s outcomes thus far.

“Every year in January the Growth Alliance has an annual meeting where we report out on the past year and then talk about what we see coming in the future year. We will speak about some data on what we are seeing in the economy. It is also a meeting that is open to the public, and we are hoping that people can and will attend on January 13.” McCrady stated. “It’s been a good year for the economy for Springfield and Sangamon County. We are still seeing steady job growth, which as you look at other counties in the country that’s not as common, so we are an outlier in a positive way there. We’re seeing positive job growth, had some good developments announced, we even have some things going through a review process right now, so 2025 was a busy year and this is a good opportunity for members of the community to hear what’s been going on and get an idea of what’s to come for next year.”

The SSGA’s annual meeting will be held on the morning of January 13 at 8 am and should be done for the day by 9:30 that morning and will be hosted at the Memorial Learning Center off of Miller Street, which is part of the Memorial Health Campus.
