Woman dead after Springfield accident Thursday

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County Coroner Jim Allmon reports the death of a Roodhouse woman after a vehicle collision Thursday.

The 69-year-old woman was pronounced deceased at HSHS St. John’s Hospital shortly before 3pm.

The collision occurred near the intersection of South 7th Street and East Laurel.

The victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of relatives, and an autopsy, which is scheduled for Friday.
