Woman found dead inside Stonington home

Stonington, IL (WAND) – An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a home in rural Stonington.

The Christian County Coroner Austin Peters told WAND News he was called to the home of 40-year-old Shannon Reckers on Wednesday, April 1.

Reckers was found dead inside the home.

Illinois State Police and the Christian County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.

Peters said he cannot release at this time whether any foul play is suspected in Recker’s death.

WAND News reached out to ISP for more information. ISP said, “To protect the integrity of the investigation, there is no further information available at this time.”
